Why You Shouldn’t Follow Your Passion
Following you passion? Think about what your options!

For a long time, people have told us that if you want to have a happy work-life you ought to follow your passion, and make money out of what you really love. It’s the ultimate dream for everyone, isn’t it?

To be honest, if you think about it this way it sounds exciting. However, restricting this one thing you truly cherish by workspace rules and pressures is the opposite of what you want.

Here is why turning your passion into a serious business is not such a great idea:

Passion Changes Over Time

What makes you passionate today is not necessarily going to keep you passionate in the future, just like what interested you once when you were a child doesn’t interest you anymore.

Don’t stress while trying to figure out your passion or believe that it’s key for everything you’ll be doing. There are many options out there that you can choose from; no one was born knowing their set of skills, we grow up and learn what we’re good at vs. what we’re not so good at!

Your Passion Might not Bring you Money

Thinking of sports, dancing, jewelry making, writing, or singing? I know many people made it before, but the chances are pretty low and the path is unpredictable. The hardships along the way can drain your energy and steal away your love for this practice.

You have to know that not every single person who followed his/her passion succeeded. Sometimes you just can’t turn what you love into a career.

Think about it this way, keeping your passion outside your work life may be the right thing to do to keep it special.

When it Comes to Working, Focus on What You’re Good at not What you Love to do

Hobbies are a great stress reliever, however, this doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ll enjoy doing it regularly in a work-frame.

So when it comes to your career, consider what you’re good at rather than what you like to do but aren’t very good at. While you shouldn’t hate your job by any means, but you also have to accept the fact that earning money means hard work and facing repetitive and mundane tasks from time to time, and it’s most likely unwise to just drop everything and “follow your dream” love what you do, even if it’s not the only thing that you love.

Not Being Passionate About Something Will Make You Feel Like a turkey

Although hearing the majority of people talk about their passions could make you feel bad if you do not identify with this lifestyle, you should always remember that every single person is unique.

That is why it’s normal not knowing what to do because that’s how life works, to experience things, explore, search and feel them & appreciate them is what you need to do if you want to reach a career path that makes you happy and satisfied.

The bottom line is: forget about cliches, how things have to work or how your life is supposed to be, what is good or bad, and what other people tell you about right and wrong, the only right rule is what is good, suitable and convenient for you and only you.
